Helpful Hint: When tightening the ring prior to canning, it is important to “tighten it, but not make it too tight” because over tightening ring will not allow the jar to seal properly.

An easy way to ensure that the ring is tight, but not too tight, is using the three-finger method. Using only three fingers prevents you from over tightening the ring.

    Nice website, user friendly, shipped fast, good price. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 was that they weren’t packaged well. One sleeve of lids was draped across the other and also there was no cushioning, paper or bubble wrap to keep them from banging around during shipping. A few lids were dented on the edges.
