The secret to ultra‑creamy ice cream:
A recipe book is included. Select your favorite and prepare the refrigerated mix.
Pour the chilled mix into the stainless steel can.
Place the can in the tub and attach the motor.
Fill the tub 2/3 full of ice.
Add 1 cup of salt over the ice.
Fill the tub up to the top of the can with more ice.
Add 3 cups of salt on top.
Plug in the motor and turn it ON.
Top off the tub with ice as needed.
Add more ice and salt during churning if levels drop.
Ensure the drain hole stays open so melting water can escape.
If salty water rises, it can seep into the ice cream.
Expect 15–30 minutes, depending on:

This motor is VERY heavy in weight. That’s good! Everything seems to be high quality. Looks very well built with solid insulation! Imagine….made in the USA!! Appears it should last a lifetime!
Made our first batch of chocolate homemade ice cream. Outstanding! We’re in our 70’s and haven’t had great ice cream like this since childhood! What a treat!!
This freezer worked extremely well. Motor is exceptionally quiet. My husband was just around the corner in the living room and couldn’t hear the motor running at all. The ice cream didn’t get as hard as we’ve experienced with our two old hand crank units but I suspect it’ll take some trials to figure out the salt/ice ratios. It does take quite a lot of salt. We followed the instructions and guidelines that came with it so we will alter ratios from there.
We bought the additional insulated lid to cover the ice cream so we could leave it in the ice/salt mixture overnight. It’s early spring so it stayed plenty cold outside. Worked very well with not melting!! Will have to see how things go in the summer heat. We are exceedingly pleased with our purchase! No more chemical additives or heavy sugar loads in commercial ice cream!!
ONE WORD OF CAUTION….I initially filled our canister about 2/3-3/4 of the way and it expanded out the top as it froze. I had to stop the freezer and remove a couple of cups. When I restarted the motor it immediately filled the cannister again. I suggest not filling the container past 2/3 full to hopefully avoid my calamity. 😆
